In just the first ten days, 540,633 (.РФ) domains have been registered. Squatters aside, this is an impressive number and a sign of changes to come.

And as of October 3, 2011, the number of Russian IDNs exceeded 900,000, which means that this domain is by far the world’s most popular IDN, though its rate of growth has slowed considerably.
