Today is the official European Day of Languages.
This year’s theme is “talk to me.”

The Web site offers some nifty downloads, such as this visual that features the theme translated into a number of languages:
I often point to Web sites like Google and Wikipedia as great examples of multilingual Web sites.
Google supports more than 120 languages and Wikipedia supports more than 150. Few other companies come close to supporting that many languages.

SDL today released its “World Language League Table” which lists the languages that SDL has been most frequently translating.
The company says it translates more than a billion words each year into more than 150 languages.

I visited the Live Earth Web site today and was pleased to see that the site supports eight languages, including Chinese, Turkish, and Zulu. It appears that the languages were selected to be relevant to the locations of the concerts.
