Borders continues its global expansion with its first store in Ireland and certainly not the last.
Borders now does business in six countries outside the US. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to enter the Middle East.
As for the Borders Web site, I suspect that it is just a matter of time before the company abandons its partnership with Amazon and goes it alone. Localized Web sites for these markets would only help Borders — and Amazon offers no specific Web site for Ireland. But it is early yet and Amazon may still rise to the occasion.

And this is no commentary on the quality of service that Amazon provides Borders, as I have no idea either way.
