Google’s International Revenues Gain Momentum

Posted on by John Yunker

Google’s revenue engine, Google Adwords, is available in more than 40 languages, so it’s not surprising to see Google’s international revenues growing so quickly. But this rate of growth is actually gaining momentum.

According to Google’s Q3 earnings release last week, “Revenues from outside of the United States contributed 44% of total revenues in the third quarter of 2006, compared to 42% in the second quarter of 2006 and 39% in the third quarter of 2005.”

Given current growth trends, Google’s international revenues will surpass US revenues by the end of next year. This threshold is significant, because once companies cross it, few ever cross back.

PS: eBay has been flirting with this 50% threshold all year.
